SoLou Restaurant Set to Open Location in Lafayette

Making Raving Fans Hospitality Group Expands into Lafayette with SoLou’s second location, with more to come. 

Making Raving Fans Hospitality Group (MRFHG) is thrilled to announce the upcoming spring opening of SoLou in the River Ranch neighborhood of Lafayette. This will become one of many SoLou locations that are planned for the coming years along the I-10 corridor from Houston to Jacksonville, Florida over the next ten years. SoLou's original location in Baton Rouge has been a local favorite since opening in 2021 and was named Baton Rouge's best new Restaurant. SoLou offers a modern take on Louisiana comfort food, craft cocktails, wine, and beer, all in an Instagram-worthy chic setting.

Peter Sclafani, Founder and CEO of Making Raving Fans Hospitality Group, expressed his excitement about the Lafayette expansion: "We are delighted to bring SoLou to Lafayette in the spring. The former Grub burger space will undergo a transformation that honors SoLou's identity and resonates with the Lafayette community."

The Lafayette location will take over the former Grub burger space on Kaliste Saloom Road. “We feel like this location is the fifty-yard line of River Ranch,” says Sclafani. 

The space, to be transformed and branded by the same architect, DNA, and branding firm, Xdesign, Inc., used for the successful Baton Rouge location, will provide Lafayette residents and visitors with a distinctive atmosphere, great food, and along with lunch and dinner, will also offer brunch daily. 

Sclafani is not a stranger to Lafayette, having previously served as the co-owner and executive chef of Ruffino's. During his tenure, he purchased Donald Link’s Cochon location in River Ranch to bring Ruffino's on the River to Lafayette.

That experience deepened his understanding and appreciation of Lafayette's vibrant culinary scene, community, and growth potential.

SoLou joins the esteemed list of Baton Rouge restaurants that have successfully expanded into the Lafayette market, including Ruffino’s on The River, The Chimes, Superior Grill, Walk-On’s,, and Raising Canes.
